Fashion students! Learn from Chalayan interview!

The topics that he talked about is inspiring. That could actually makes a dissertation topic!

Chalayan: "Everyone wants to be a designer. I am like, do you know what it takes?"

Golbin: "So, what does it takes?"

Chalayan: "I think it takes strength, belief, confidence, patience; you have to have money . . . nobody funded my business, I have to find collaborations. Initially, I did it not for money, I did it because I really enjoyed it. I really felt I have something new to say at that time."

Important note from Chalayan:
For those of you who want to be designers, you have to constantly have ideas. I think of the works as eras of work. I usually work in pairs that connect to each other and then there will be new chapters open in the next era of work.

You have to stick to it (being a fashion designer).

I think that we are all creatures where I definitely have a strong character but I am also very vulnerable. I have to embrace it. This is part of being human. Embrace everything about yourself.
